The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says it is “thoroughly examining the matter” after one of its employees wished for former President Donald Trump’s death, according to reports.
“Too bad they weren’t a better shot,” the employee, Tyler Janke, wrote following Saturday’s attempted assassination of Trump, according to screenshots posted online and a report from ABC 6.

Jack Black has said he’s cancelled the rest of the Tenacious D world tour after his bandmate Kyle Gass sparked an outcry with a comment about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
The comedy rock group were on stage in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday when Gass was asked to make a wish after being presented with a cake for his 64th birthday.
He appeared to reply: "Don’t miss Trump next time."
In a statement on Instagram, Black said he was "blindsided" by the comment.
"I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form," the comedian and actor wrote.
He said he didn’t feel it was "appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour", and that the rest of the group’s "creative plans are on hold".

A fire official in Delaware County has resigned after making controversial comments on social media about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. In the aftermath of Saturday's shooting at a Trump rally in western Pennsylvania, Jim Simmonds -- the fire marshal in the borough of Prospect Park -- took to Facebook. Simmonds posted, "A little to the right next time please."

Dave Gegorek, a producer at WBAL NewsRadio in Baltimore, took to Facebook moments after news broke of the attempted assassination.

In Aberdeen, Wash., Mayor Douglas Orr said on social media that he thought “this [was] about the only thing that could happen that would artificially gain Trump sympathy votes.”
“The shooter is dead so we will never know if this was staged,” Mayor Orr said. “I hope I’m wrong, but because of his record of deceit, that’s the first thing that came to mind.”
Mayor Orr provided TND with a lengthy statement late Monday afternoon.
I'm not proud of my first reaction," Mayor Orr said. "I ask for your forgiveness and I most sincerely apologize to my community."

The Sioux Falls School District has fired a Ben Reifel Middle School behavior facilitator, after she made comments on social media regarding the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Cassandra Oleson, on her personal Facebook page under the name Cassie Martin, which is now inactive, had posted “Shoot -- If only he would’ve had his scope sighted in correctly,” shortly after the assassination attempt by the person FBI identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

A Democratic Missouri state senator from University City posted, then quickly deleted, a comment on Facebook saying she hoped President Donald Trump would be assassinated. As a result of Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal’s comment, the U.S. Secret Service’s St. Louis field office is investigating and both Sen. Claire McCaskill and the chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party have called on her to resign. Chappelle-Nadal told The Star that she posted the comment out of frustration with the “trauma and despair” the president is causing with his statements about the events in Charlottesville, Va. “The way I responded this morning was wrong,” she told The Star. “I’m frustrated. Did I mean the statement? No. Am I frustrated? Absolutely.

The U.S. Secret Service is investigating a Twitter posting by a Kentucky woman who suggested someone could assassinate President Donald Trump.
The agency’s field office in Louisville has interviewed Heather Lowrey and conducted a background check.
The tweet, according to a screenshot provided to The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/2jbovI4), says “If someone was cruel enough to assassinate MLK, maybe someone will be kind enough to assassinate Trump.”
