Apparently whites in NYC are not so happy with their children going to public schools. Slightly more than half (52%) of white students in the city attend private schools. In the US overall, 10 to 12% attend private schools.
About 31 percent of NYC residents identify as white, nonhispanic. TThe public schools are 16 percent white, nonhispanic.
