$50,000 in 8 months. That is how much a Seattle wine bar owner has had to pay to replace windows and repair damage caused by the 7 break-ins he's experienced, in the single year he's been in business. The owner told KIRO7's Jake Chapman: "We are at the end of our lifeline. We've used up everything the city will offer us, and insurance will take seven to eight months. Last time, [insurance] deposed me under oath." No solutions in sight from Mayor Katie Wilson to combat Seattle's 3rd highest in the nation ranking, for both burglaries and property crime. BONUS: Chapman noticed and mentions multiple businesses on the block with smashed windows. This is not what a 'world class city' should have to deal with on a repeat basis.

Target will close one store in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood, two locations in Seattle, three stores in the San Francisco-Oakland area and three more in Portland, Oregon. The discounter said it will shutter the stores for good on Oct. 21.
“We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,” Target said in a news release.
