Slovenly Peter -- German Children's Book.

My greatgrandmother gave me a book "Slovenly Peter" by a  German psychiatrist Hoffman.  The book consists of morality tales written by Hoffman as a Christmas gift for this three year old child.  It was so scary that my mother got rid of it.  

We saw a copy of the book at the Haddonfield Historical Society house.  When first googling, the description was 

Then with slightly different ordering of the words when googling, the descriptions were "the best scenes from the most demented German children's book",   "savagery of the stories", "creepiest thing you'll see today".
