U.S. Suicide Rates

Suicide Rates for Women and Men

The suicide rate increased from 10.4 per 100,000 in 2000 to 13.5 per 1000,000 in 2020.  For men 75 years and older, the rate is 40.5 per 100,000.  

The rate of suicides per 100,000 increased from 13.5 in 2020 to 14.0 in 2021, which is still lower than the modern peak of 14.2 in 2018.
