On September 22, 2021, the Committee convened for the purpose of considering the July 29, 2021, arrest of Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-D), for Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding, during a protest outside a Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. Representative Jackson Lee was released following her arrest. Representative Jackson Lee paid a $50 fine following her arrest. Court records indicate that the legal proceedings have been resolved with no further action. The Committee voted against impanelling an investigative subcommittee in this matter. The Committee considered the scope and nature of the conduct described above and determined that review by an investigative subcommittee is not required in this matter.
Apparently being arrested is just fine so long as your party is in power.
