Not Fine/Fine; May 20, 2025
In 2024, Lara Trump expressed concern about Biden's cognitive decline. Tapper said that what she was referring to was Biden's stutter and how did she think a stuttering child would feel given her criticism. At the end, he said saracastially, "I am sure your comment comes from a spirit of concern." After writing his book about the press's failure to cover Biden's decline, Tapper said that he called Lara Trump and admitted she was right, adding that he felt “tremendous humility” about his coverage

I began to write about his affliction in June 2019 and begged his family to send him to a doctor. Below is a summary of the posts that ran on this summary from that first post up to the election. The words in italics came from the post written on the date shown at the beginning of each section.k

June 2019 The fact that he has memory lapses should be an extra concern for members of the Democratic Party because as the pressure is building, his forgetfulness is getting worse. It’s no wonder his staff is trying to keep him away from the press. This isn’t a matter of politics; I have seen too many close family members suffer from Dementia, watching them desperately fighting to remember the names of their children and grandchildren. Biden is not close to that level, but I would strongly recommend that one of Biden’s loved ones insist that he get examined by an MD.
Fine: March 2024
Back in March 2024, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough infamously had a meltdown on the air, angrily ranting at anyone who dared to question Joe Biden’s mental acuity. “I've said it for years now: he's cogent,” he insisted. “But I undersold him when I said he was cogent. He's far beyond cogent. In fact, I think he's better than he's ever been intellectually, analytically.”
“Start your tape right now, because I'm about to tell you the truth," Scarborough ranted on. "And f you if you can't handle the truth. This version of Biden intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever. Not a close second. And I've known him for years. The Brzezinskis have known him for 50 years. If it weren't the truth, I wouldn't say it.”

Chuck Schumer -- Biden is in command, mental acuity is great, any suggestion otherwise is right-wing propaganda.

Vice President Kamala H: Harris called Special Counsel Robert Hur's characterization of President Biden's memory "gratuitous, inaccurate and inappropriate." "The way that the president's demeanor in that report was characterized could not be more wrong on the facts, and clearly, politically motivated, gratuitous," she said.
